S.M.A.R.T Goal Setting

S.M.A.R.T goals get
cozy at the barre....

New week, new month, new year, new decade....all good times to set some new goals.  There is no time like now to start building a brand new you from the inside out.  As this new year begins, set aside some time to think about the goals that you have for yourself and, most importantly, make sure your goals fit the S.M.A.R.T goal rules!

S: specific...make your goal specific!  For example, I will attend 3 barre classes a week, rather than, I will exercise more.

M: measurable...can you measure your results?  I will lose x amount of inches, or, I will be able to hold a plank for 30 seconds more than my current hold.

A: achievable....make sure your goal is realistic.  Aim for something within reach.  If you currently take 2 classes a week, 3 or 4 is attainable but 7 might be overreaching.

R: relevant...make your goal something that is appropriate for your age and lifestyle.  Do you need to build bone density? Do you need more muscular endurance? Do you need more structure to your day?

T: time bound...give your goal a time frame.  For the next year, for the next month, for the next week.....put a time line on yourself and your goal.
