Shine Dance Fitness- Fridays at 8:15am w/ Linda

Shine is a dance fitness format which empowers women through movement. Jazz, ballet, and hip hop choreography makes it super fun and you are guaranteed to get your heart rate up!. Weekend Backpacks, one of our favorite non-profits, is asking for our help! 

They are in need of new hats, gloves, scarves and socks sizes youth small through adult.  Regularly, Weekend Backpacks works to deliver food and essential items to school children throughout Baltimore.  Their bags are designed to provide meals for a student and their family over the weekend, when they don’t have the reliable access to food that they have at school during the week. Seasonally, they provide other items in need and this is where we come in!

They know that our great community has provided for them in the past and they are still in need of items for their winter accessories delivery. They are asking for items no smaller than youth small and new items only.  We will be collecting items through December 18.

Summer has arrived!!!!  And with it comes the newest craze.....Aqua Barre! Recently certified through IFTA Fitness, our very own Judy Weidel is inviting us to her pool to experience this superior workout!  Combining elements of Barre , Pilates and Aquatic Exercise, this class utilizes the natural resistance of water to tone and strengthen muscles while also improving flexibility and balance.

Aqua barre offers a fun and challenging experience that can benefit individuals of all fitness levels and can be the much needed change of pace during these humid months!

After years of teaching and practicing the pilates principles in the studio, we want to encourage you to put these principles in motion!  This course will focus on how everything from our everyday movements to our competitive sports training can benefit from incorporating the same principles that keep us aligned at the barre and balanced on the reformer.  Joseph Pilates did not intend for the practice of contrology to be confined to a studio.  His intention was for these exercises to change the way you move through your daily life.  These practices and principles are that which helps us to move with ease, economy and efficiency.  For five weeks we will break down and discuss these principles, work on mastering them in the studio and taking them outdoors for a run/walk.  We will conclude our course by coming together for a great cause and participating in the Red Shoe Shuffle on April 14.  See our most recent blog for more of Joseph Pilates ideas on the Movement Principles.
