Sound Immersion Description: Sound immersion is a meditative practice incorporating many types of instruments that provide soothing sounds and vibrations for guiding both body and mind into a profound state of relaxation. This experience helps alleviate stress, ease physical tension, and deepen your sense of calm. Credentials: Mary Pinkard, M.Ed., NQA II, AFAA Mary Pinkard received her undergraduate degree in Music Education, and Masters in Education. She furthered her studies to become certified as a Feng Shui Practitioner, Group Fitness Instructor, Qigong/Tai Chi Instructor, and currently completing a year long intensive in Sound Therapy. Her most recent work includes 10 years of teaching Qigong at Brick Bodies, 5 years teaching Qigong at University of Maryland Medical School, 5 years presenting Qigong at the National Conference on Addictions, and guest presenter for the Stress Management course at McDaniel College. Music has always played an integral part of each of her other disciplines with the understanding that sound and vibration serve to amplify our own vibrational coherence.
