Joseph Pilates created his technique to help us live better! He firmly believed (as we all do!) that the human body was designed for movement and longevity. He also recognized, however, that our lifestyles have disrupted our ability to move with ease and efficiency. He developed the PIlates Method of Contrology based upon the Pilates Principles to help us get back to moving effectively!
I've skied with 80 year olds, rocked climbed alongside 70 year olds, learned to Kayak from a woman in her 60s, and try to keep up with women in their 40s and 50s at every half marathon I've done. There is only one reason we wouldn't be able to keep moving and challenging our bodies for years to come! And that is poor movement quality!
Running isn't bad for us, how we run might be bad for us. HIIT exercises won't cause injury, how you perform HIIT exercises might injury you. Quality of movement is everything!
In our course, Pilates in Motion, we want to teach you how to move with quality. Whether is is at the barre, chasing your kids through the playground or walking on guided tours through historic cities, we know you do not want your body to slow you down!
